API Key

If you purchased your theme AFTER 1/1/2012, then you will have received an API Key with the purchase confirmation email. Please save that confirmation email and the API Key.

What is the API Key?

The API Key is a unique string of characters provided to you in the purchase confirmation email. It is strictly for you - do not share it with others. It allows Gabfire's servers to identify you as an authorized user, and then enables the Updates feature for your theme. The Updates feature will automatically grab the latest version of the theme and replace it with your working version.

IMPORTANT NOTE: You should NOT use the Updates feature if you customized your theme as all customizations will be lost.

Where do I insert the API Key?

You can insert the API Key into the Gabfire Themes > Updates tab. It will look like this:

Will my theme work without an API Key?

Yes. Your theme will work fine without the API Key. It is only used to enable the automatic update feature found in the Gabfire Themes > Updates tab.
